I'm off to Eastern Kansas in the morn to do some general scouting. Going to look at some "water". Will be a new kind of deal since I'm used to the dry dirt and dust. Kansas is so very trapper friendly compared to Oklahoma!!! Get to stop in and visit with the co-owner of American Coon Cap. americancooncap.com/

Ohio, I've known Bo for a few years. First words I said to the man was, "do ya wanna catch more coyotes"? Lol. I was peddling my lure at a state trappers function. Kind of hit it off and been BSing ever since. I'm very sure trappers will see new items from them very soon!

Well, what a trip it was!! I think it's going to be a heck of a lot of work! Those pits have banks that are straight up and down! I gotta say that I was a little disappointed in the lack of sign of muskrats. Looks like I'll have to do a lot of research on how to "water trap"!! lol One high light of the trip was that I seen a mink crossing a two track (never seen a live mink before)!

I trapped some beaver one year in some strip mine pits in se Ohio. Those ponds where like that straight sided and deep right off the edge. I went swimming more than once in that cold water.

Kskoons, Your optimistic about my skill level----I'm not a water trapper!!! In fact I'm not much of a trapper at all---I just pretend to be one from Dec thru Feb. lol I don't know how you "water trappers" do it! Out here in the "dust bowl", the beaver are in the stock tanks under the windmills...... Lol. Heck, our catfish have ticks on them!
