Had a little time today to make up some Wolf Fang cable stakes. I make a different lengths, for different areas. I also make one that has double lengths of cable with a fang on each for those real soft/muddy soils along creeks and ponds. When there is no way to fasten a trap down they come in play. I also have wolf fangs on all my cable restraints. I have come to like the Wolf Fang a lot over the last two seasons. I use a length of cable off of the wolf fang,(about 10" to 16"),then add an eight inch piece of chain. I hook to the trap chain with a quick-link. Makes it easy to change out traps when you have to. How do you use/set up yours ? Here a few pic's of some of mine.

I start out with 20 inches of cable I like to think I'm below the plow line in the farm fields when I cut the cable when I pull. The ground here is very compacted and many pastures have never seen a plow ever! Pulling a fang out of the ground is not an option and I'm OK with that as I have no plans too and that saves my back and is well worth it. I went to all fangs on my MJs and still have some SC 1.75 that can be metal staked! I will grab a wolf fang before a stake any day because they are a lot less of a problem then a stake can be at times.

I still have some rebar stakes. I use them in the garden to mark rows.

I love them Fangs. I have mine set up with cable now, but every time I have to order something, I get a Doz of them. I do believe you can never have too many of them. I traded for a pretty good bit of chain, and will be making new ones up with chain, but will be sure when I do use them, I will be able to pull or dig them out. I know cable is cheap, but I don't figure to have to ever replace the chains. I may be wrong, but if I dye and wax, they should outlast me. I have not had a problem with cable on them, but the cable will most likely be the weak link.
I did buy some cheap cable one time. It rusted bad in a lil over a week. I got some good stuff from a member here when he was selling at meet up in East Tn a few years back. No matter who sells it, it is worth the extra money!
I told a guy one time, if you cant afford to fix it right, how are you going to be able to afford to fix it twice...
