Not a big fan, but every one is different.

I know every trap has their pro's and con's I like my bridger #2 dogless but don't like my my 1-3/4 bridgers so many pull outs now they just sit in a bucket in the shop

I don't like the pans on the 1 1/2 bridgers. Coon love to bend the flimsy pan.

My go to cat trap for above ground sets are #3s O/S and 3Ns with pit pans added. If your going to bury then like in sand or loose soils they are sweet. Here the ground is very hard pastures that have never been turned in some places there I like the MJs.
I use a piece of siding about a inch wide 6 inches long and 3/8 thick to support the loose jaw so they don't rock just don't set it under the pan

If state of Arkansas would let me I would use cast jaw 650's but we can't over a 6" jaw spread I want to be legal but I don't want to play fair with coyotes so going to mess with these #3 victors if I like them I'll own some sleepy creek offset #3's DLS they have 6" jaw spread

MJ500s are the trap you might want to look into if you can find them! Nothing wrong with a #3 Victor L/S just need a sandy/loose soil to work with them is all. In harder ground a coil trap really shines.
