A very good trap, hard hitting and humane unfortunately I am limited to where I use them because people will steal or damage them at every opportunity.

No they are escapees , Ferreting is very popular in the UK as it is a working mans sport and up until last year I did a lot of it , some people try it out and when things go wrong the just abandon their animals most will die on the roads but some survive for a while until they go into one of my traps . I snared one once and after a bit of a tussle I got him out and kept for a long time and it was a good worker

That is how they grow in the wild , the rabbits are over 4lb and the ferret is not far behind them , ruthless killers but I like them and always feel a bit sad when one turns up in a trap

Here is the chap I caught in a wire , look at the catch circle , he was not a happy lad , he was caught in a big loop set seven inches off the ground , I think he scented my hand on the wire , stood up to investigate andwalked in . Forgive me if I get boring but I can talk snaring all night.

Micky that is very interesting.
Not legal here in Ohio, I don't know if other states can Ferret or not.
What other animals do you have there? I think I have heard mink.

The animals we can trap or snare are FOX RABBIT HARE GREY SQUIRREL MINK STOAT WEASIL RAT MICE The Country is overrun with Badgers but if you touched one it would be jail time . There are a lot of Deer and poaching is a problem people kill them at night using a dog and a spotlight or a silenced rifle and night sights . Shooting is very big over and they have got it all tied up but I am lucky to have to have a lot of land on which I can catch pest species .

Rabbit caught going in with imbra I had a lot of these once but I have given them to a mate /friend who lives in Norfolk , he does it for a living and will get another thirty years out of them before they need re-springing They are not a bad rat trap , I do not set for rats but sometimes the take over a burrow , when they have a litter the young come out and get thrown through the trap and are caught by the tail which they then gnaw off or other rats will eat them and just leave a skeleton held to the trap by its tail .

I know nothing about coon but I will try to find out . What do they weigh how do they move how do you snare them will they bite the wire ?? This is the most common strike with an out going Rabbit with the Imbra 3/4 lb adult rabbit barely moves the trap.

We are only allowed to use the BMI 160 AND BMI 110 , I am not sure if you use the BMI 160 over there as it is built to comply to British standards , I believe the 160 is made up with standard 110 jaws and a 160 spring but I am not certain. The trap I use have been in use for 60 years or more and are no longer made the one we are expected to use is the Fenn 6 for rabbits, mink squirrel and rats, it is DIRE worse than useless , and designed by men who know nothing. One of the traps that this contrivance replaced was the SAWYER , another design classic that was very well thought of by older ,wiser men .

[/URL], The SAWYER Not my first choice but it was for the men came before me, I did use them a lot but there was something about the angled plate that did not gel with me,still a good trap for rabbit and excellent on squirrels when set naked in a cubby

Hey Micky have you seen the RBG body grip traps they are a circle not a square like other body grip traps

Yes I have seen them but they would never get passed for use in this country , a 5 inch RBG would be ideal for me except for the spring , our traps have to be set beyond the entrance of a tunnel that means at least 6 inches in after firing so you wouldhave to remove to much dirt, in an ideal world the RBG would have its power source fitted as a small compact unit fitted to the side of the jaws or within the jaws themselves, if this could be achieved I would buy them today . This is the type of thing we have to site our BGs in , I am told it is legal but not in the spirit of the law ., , this cubby is set for rabbits on government land , a fox came through , spoilt the set then paid the price a few yards along .I will put a couple of pictures up of the far side of the fence
