I used to have near a half mile of weed choked ditch running through my property.
Its actually a county drain. It held a pile of rats and mink were plenty.
Was full of crawdads. Maybe a good reason for mink
I'd pop 12/15 mink a yr off it. Not bad for a half mile
But the county has come through this yr with hydrahoes and dug it all out. Replaced all culverts and erased all sign
My thoughts on it now, although its a wait and SEE
I feel now that it WIDE open the k9 crew will run it as it is now a path of least resistance.
Creek width has been opened up so banks are longer and not as steep.. this could be like trapping a runway for acft or not

I know how you feel my best rat pond was drained last year and the one across the road also! Thought wetlands were protected from that guess not!

Lawdog your comment on wetlands that's what I thought.. it was just 3 falls ago I had some wetlands south of a huge picked corn field. That every dayduring season was producing 4 man limits of ducks and geese.. till they drained it ughhhh

Went to KS turkey hunting several years back and the amount of slash and burning going on in NE was scary!
