So I’m looking for a trapline and small game hunting handgun and thinking about a single six. Does anyone here have any experience with these?

That is the pistol I carry on the line love for two reasons very accurate and it was the pistol my dad carried running his line back in 70’s and 80’s I use CCI mini mag shorts or aguila sniper sub sonic it’s a 60 grain bullet in short case quite and hits like a hammer

Carried a Ruger single six [22 - 22mag.] with a 9 1/2 in. barrel when I was running coon hounds back in the early 70s .. just like shooting a rifle taking out coons in the top of oaks .. BTW still got it ,, but got a great deal on a Tarus 22 and well I am ruff on equiptment .. had it for about 4? seasons under water a bunch of times - muddy stays in the box on the back of the 4-wheeler during season - reason for all this last year it took the big poop- had to pull back the hammer and hoped it fired - sent it in and got it back in less then 2 weeks, now get this fixed- reblued and thought it was a new one -No billing statement- called and they told me the warranty is forever [bluing ?]asked how much on shipping and was told you sent it to us were even - any problems ship it back in the returned box - damn I like them people -D-

I've got one (older one) 22 only no mag. Accurate as all get out. Have a Hi Standard also works good too and 9 shots vs 6 with the ruger.

I’d retire my single six soon as I got my hands on a old H and R sportsman 999 target with 6” barrel

Ruger also offers the Single Ten----with a 10 shot cylinder, BUT for low weight I got the S&W 317 Airlite with 4" Bbl
It is even 8oz lighter than Dads Ruger Bearcat
