Buddy stopped by yesterday and we were talking about trapping this coming season and he says he won't trap cats down next to me where I trap cats at this year because it cost him too much? (55 mi one way) So I said if your not going down there get me in there and he could have it back anytime he wanted it no problem.
He's not going and I am but I would not take his place away from him I just would not do it but it would allow me to run a few more traps for cats and yotes for gas I'm already burning. Won't take his spot, I'm going that way already, it's in a huge area and not enough land to trap to hurt the population in any way. Was that out of line in any way?

It wasn't out of line in my opinion. If he didn't want you there, all he had to do was say so and I'm sure you would have respected that. Like you said, It's not like you're trying to steal his spot on him and he isn't using it anyway.

Kind of a knee jerk reaction it seemed like I was kind of put off by it, I would not take his spot over he could have it back anytime heck it's his spot. Since I was drive the 45 miles one way from my place it just made sense to me if he was going to pass on it, I planned on passing my spot to him when I no longer go there for cats or if I get sick because he's right there. LOL
Just need to consider this was his first place to trap cats and he did pick up 2 cats so that makes it special for him so protection mode kind of makes sense maybe to him. Will let him think about it and see what comes of it.
