Bought a hundred of the original wolf fangs, so far they hold up so much better than the knock off's. Yes I bought a bunch of them when I first started trapping. Didn't know any better then. Will never buy a nother cable stake again or another dog proof than a Diablo.

Went to all fangs years back never had a issue with them and they save my back, I just cut and run no digging them out that would defeat the back saving part! LOL

Must have had a toe catch. Every trap I own is on a short chain, and I haven’t had one pull out yet. I run a swivel, 3 links of chain, swivel, 3 links of chain, and a swivel on the end. Chains are about 8” long and I run 12” super stakes. That said, I don’t think it matters much how long your chains are. If you don’t have them deep, eventually you are gonna get a pullout.

This is my thoughts on short chain -- not one pull out on this set up -trap- crunch proof- 6in. chain- crunch proof- spring- crunch proof- wolf fang on 16in. cable -- screwed up this year , settin and 1 trap without a spring ? guess I screwed that [still peed] , any way big tear up in a 4ft. circle and pulled out -- this is on a old timber road .. quit aways from water - 3 traps set-up did catch a yote on 1 with a spring .. sure looked like cat -D-

I’m willing to bet even if there’s a touch of skunk, it still has glands in it though.

The trick is to use a gland ingredient sure, but a base that is attractive to everything so it's more appealing!
