No not anything to do with April Fools day~ The new Governor set up a bounty ($10 for tails) on fox, striped skunks, possum, coons and badgers. Many changes before it even starts the latest rules are no road kills (tails already missing that I'm seeing), bone in so you don't clean out your freezer, up to 59 tails per household (to avoid sending out the 1099 tax forms at $600).
It's going to be a mess and filled with fraud I am seeing that already, they are giving out cages for free that went from 5 to 3 cages and they were gone in one night. LOL So what it will end up is non-trappers will be setting out traps and when they screw up they will be called trappers then, not so great for us trappers.

Brought in 30 tails today I had to laugh at the big sign on the front door! "DO NOT BRING TAILS INTO THE OFFICE!" It was painless just a few where did you get them in what County. The regional supervisor came out and counted them even, then I had to sign the form and then I headed over to a call in the next county over for a skunk. I then get a Email with the details and it said I should get a check in the next 30 days.
I wanted to wait until I had the 59 limit to make it easier on all concerned but with the tail whacking on roadkills and the lack of roadkill (picking up whacking later) I figured one check was better then no check. With my luck I'd wait and then have 59 tails the day after the bounty quota was met! LOL
