I want to go trapping for beavers. I am trapping near the Clearwater River. A land owner has beavers on his property that are destroying the trees. I am going to try to lower the population while make money at the same time. The area has many trails and birch trees. I am wondering how to make dog proof sets that are humane. What lures and baits do I use? Thanks in advance.

Are you trapping "Beaver Ponds" with dams ? And what kind of traps do you have that you are going to use ?

I don't understand dog-proof on beaver - go to water hit the runs .. make a few castor sets -- 300s or a good foothold 4s or 5s -- kinda lost me on this post--D-

Under water 330s in the runs like D said they dig "runs" where they travel find a narrow spot or a place where they dive to go under and you should have little to worry about. Always show the 330s a lot of respect and learn how they work. Try to find a experienced trapper to take you along to ease the learning curve.
