There is alot of wild edibles growing righ tin the middle of big cities. A little research and work a person could make it ok. Dont over look the tree rats that infest cities and town, pigeons, cats, dogs, rats, coon, mice etc.
With the amount of people stacked that deep in one place and no food coming into the citys what ever is there won't last for long so the farms will come to mind for the hungry/needy masses!!!! If you had 2 tree rats you would be a rancher!!! LOL
Born in the Big City will die in the Country OK with that!!!

what i would recomend is tring to have anuff food and water to last a min of 6 weeks . most folks keep a week or less in there homes and they will be leaving the citys in waves and while going to the woods to live sounds like a great idea there will be alot of people with the same idea. and then you will be put in a jam you will be tring to protect your stuff and your family at the same time from people that will do what ever they have to to get your stuff. imo your best bet would be to stay put and stay indoors as much as you can make it look like there is nobody in your home. you should be safer moving in 2 to 3 weeks as most of the wanders will have starved or killed each other. but i would still be carefull because i dout you will come across to many good people after a couple of weeks of hell on earth
I think the masses would do what they did for katraina ,move the the center of the city and wait for the fed to hand out ,not saying that all would but most in the city are of a differant train of thought than most here ,to them moving out to the rural areas would be out of there thought and would feel secirity in the metro area /setting ,you go with the things you know or how to do
All those pets that would be let go because the owners wouldn"t have the heart to put them down because of no food. Then packs of dogs would start hunting people. Goverment? If money become worthless, there won"t be no goverment,no policia,no nothing. Gangs would go from house to house rapeing and stealing to what ever there needs were.------read the book (patriot)----you will get the idea.---out side powers would try to take over.
. Do realy think 230,000,000 people can live on the wild live in north amerca.
Nope They wouldn't live long...After the gang bangers, people with medical problems and greed hit half would be dead.. IMO
Now people will try to plant hybird seed that isn't suppose to grow/sprout after the first growth. They would starve that way also.No way to save seeds..Deer, turkey all wild life would be almost zero after the 1st year.Your best be would be fish by then.
Yep-he who aims strait will win
Hold on boys with the mid-west flooded prices are going through the roof this winter. The corn belt is flooded.I'm stocking up now.Buying extra can goods and put away until later date.I hope I'm wrong....
My wife and I always had a big garden. We also put up a lot of canned goods every year---enough to last a year with our children and grand children that is stored. Guns and amo----seeds.The only thing would be hard is an all out fire fight to protect the goods and life. If you had to bury loved ones that didn"t make it by illness or bad guys.-----food for thought
If by chance it ever happens ..I want you to sit and think about this..! Can you look another strange person in the eyes ,talk to them, then shoot that very same person to protect you and your family. If you hesitate, you are dead, your family is dead.If it ever does happen, you will have to shoot first, ask questions later..PLAIN AND SIMPLE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD HELP EVERYONE IF IT EVER HAPPENS.. Bob O
I have a friend who deals in precious metals, He warned me to watch gold and silver and if it takes a big dip in price I had better be ready for hyper inflation, it would follow shortly after that dip. He was not painting a pretty picture and he thinks this spring could be a very bad time in this country. Might be wrong but the way this world and country have been going it would not surprise me. Can any of You ever remember things being this bad?
