Guys how do you strengthen the trap dog on your traps. I mostly use #3 Bridger but will be buying some MB 550s so will not need to strengthen the dog on them. Thanks

Don't think a coyote can't make a V out of a 550 dog. Trust me they can.

You can weld a strip of 3/16 round stock on top of the dog to beef it up.

20d nail welded to the top of the dog and a spot of weld on the eye will make then yote proof.

There is a guy who sells a dog....its called top dog, yote proof. You do have to do some tweaking to them to customize them to your trap tho.

I do not know about a wolves, but a kid sent me a a new style MB 550 that he caught a yote in and the dog (round stock) is bent. He is fom Pennsylvania. I caught several KS yotes in the 550 and had no problems. Maybe the eastern yotes are bigger/meaner. The Pan was a little tweaked as well, but the frame and Jaws were fine. I think the cause maybe that he had not trimmed off the extra length on the spring pins and the chain caught the pin or pins and the dog. Not sure
