well i figured if i wanted to market these i would need a faster way to bend than a vise or a hydrolic hand press...good use for the splitter in the off season....lol click for the video...

Oh walkercoonhunter, that's wonderful. I'm getting a outside wood stove to heat my house, and told my wife we need a log splitter. She's going to fall off the rocker when she sees me bending base plates. Lol. Great idea.

What ton splitter you running? I have a hydraulic cable cutter I was going to make into a nut crusher for snare making should work on the same idea? Great idea for sure!!!

lawdog its a 22 ton...and have way more power than i need.....i just start it up and let it idle..no throttle....
i have been thinking if i get some quick connects for the hydrolic lines i could get me some hydrolic lines run into the house and build me a press in the basement....and i could work without hearing the motor run.
but im thinking the base plate industry isnt big enough to worry about big things like that....lol
i have also thought about pressing laminations also but thats gonna be a total pain because very few traps have the save curve...so a jig would have to be made for each seperate trap....
another thing i have used my splitter for was pressing out those tough universal joints

I was thinking the same for wheel bearings too. Look at "surplus center" in NE they have a ton of great parts for building hydraulic tools!!! See if an electric motor could cut down on the noise for you. They have a help department that can help with what you need to build something!
