I mowed a lot of grass when i was 14. There is always ways to make a little money for a young person if they try a little.

I tell you what hayden - tell your buddy luke to sign up at ATT and participate in some posts. Ask questions give educated responses and most people will be more than willing to help out an upcoming trapper! Just plain out ask for money or begging for stuff won't get you far in life!! Trappers are very giving people by nature, but they want to know the details so they don't get burned.
As Ohio mentioned, get out there and look for a little work!! Ask neighbors, family, friends, etc etc. if they need any help. Heck go ask a local farmer if he needs help that will open doors to a possible trapping opportunity!!

im not against getting youngsters into trapping,he is at the ripe age to do what he can to round up enough money to buy some traps to show he isnt just messing around with a "monkey see monkey do" type thing then come to find out its too much work for him and just quit.....
at the ripe age of 14 i was working on a farm part time, also at a gas station part time, and had a lawn mowing business....it wouldnt take real long for kids today to come up with 50 bucks or so to buy 1/2 dzn traps.......kids today should atleast show a attempt at working for stuff they want....no disrespect meant ......

I say let them get started and maybe we can fill in the blanks in the future! Nothing invested is nothing lost, its to easy to walk away from it then! IMHO
