I'm looking for some advice on a good fleshing knife that I can use on beaver and coon.. I've been freezing all mine until now and it's slow as crap fleshing them the way I'm doing them now...
I was thinking of a Necker 600.. Any reason not to buy this knife?

I love my necker! Had to tune the sharp side up a bit and then it has served me very well. IMO for the money you can't go wrong with a Necker..

The necker is a good kinfe, but a beaver knife is a must too. Both will serve you well.

my first yr fleshing was a couple yrs ago, i laugh now but i was ready to see if my necker 600 would make a good boomerang then someone told me to keep the blade flat to the hide and only use the sharp side for the head area and zowee yer gonna have a bug tussle to get that necker from me. thanks red and jase

IMO for the money you can't go wrong with a Necker.. best flesher u can make is a car shock.used for 30 years.skin coon leave till real cold, fat is stiff, put hand up under between sholder, use reall sharp carving knife and carve off shoulder on up rite stretcher between legs, then the car shoch, collor is tuff, rest just clean of,fat is stiff.great stuff.i do all my furs cold fisher, saw dust at end,no oily fur
