You have come to the right place cooner if you want to know anything about skinning, fleshing, and stretching coon. We have a funny looking member here that did a couple videos on how to just what your asking. If you want to see the video full screen, just click on the square box on the bottom right corner of the video screen right next to where it says youtube. Feel free to ask any and all questions cooner!!

If you can pick up some roadkills to try your skills on! Any questions just ask! x10 - if you can skin a beat up roadkill coon, you can definitely do one that is intact LOL. If you have a question feel free to ask at any time! I'm no proffesional, but i did stay at a holiday inn express - LOL.

Well i am gona have to double check but i think its illegal to pick up road kill here in ohio! wich is kinda dumb IMO because allot of good fur goes to waste that way !
I have a question on a fleshing knife i like the necker that lyonch used in the video but thats allot of money for me ! i only catch about a dozen coon in a season but i dont really set allot of traps out since i have school and that stuff .. My question is what kind of a knife would you guys get? would you spend a few more bucks and go with the necker?
Thanks guys

cooner - if you are going to trap and start putting up any number of coon in the future, i would suggest the necker. Mainly because of the sharp side to get the grissle off the pelt. However, i did start with the fleshing knife below and still got good remarks on my fleshing from the fur buyers! It takes a lot more elbow work in the grissle area of the larger coon, but you will get a respectable product at the end. If you can't pick up roadkill in Ohio, i would contact a local ADC guy that is dispatching his nuiscance coon and see if he willing to give you one or two to practice on. www.minntrapprod.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=493_129&products_id=971
