I caught my first red fox a few weeks ago and Thanks to lyonch's video it was no problem skinning, but when I decide to put it up how much fleshing do you have to do to a fox and are there any area's I have to watch for, ( thinned skinned, or easy to rip spots) Thanks for any advise.

the belly can tear near the crotch pretty easily...theres really very little fleshing needed..a couple fatty deposits on the belly near the crotch and it may need a little just behind the neck and near the hams on both sides of the back, but thats it..you should be removing very little in all. Theres usually that little bit of meat near both arm pits too, atleast for me..just one scrape of the knife takes care of it though.

I take it all off because my fox have a heavy fat layer underneath that muscle layer. If I was in a more southern state I would only flesh the arm pits and flanks. The rest should be fine especially if you put borax on the entire leather side. It is going to take me acouple weeks, but I plan on doing a fleshing and boarding video yet for fox and coyote since I am ggetting a freezer full lately.

Here the foxes just have a little bit of fat on them. I simply pick it off when they are on the strecher. There is as much fleshing on my foxes as a muskrat.
