pretty much depends for a example if you are only targeting coons or there is dogs running the then my answer is yes.also keep in mind dp traps has open closed doors for trappers for that reason
if i was after coon, mink, rats, fox and cats then the answer is no.why? because one trap will work for all of them.lets say i would hit the water and use pocket sets for coon, rats and mink after the water gets ice or the catch rate drops then i can use the same traps and work on late season coon, fox and cats.more so if it's the only property i have to trap on by doing this i still have fun and catch fur all season

Have take four bobcats so far in #11's set for coon...a dp would not have taken them...Tom

When targeting only raccoons the speed and simplicity as well as the effectiveness will always give them a place on my line.

i really like them for coons where i know dogs/cats are but i have had more success with a cheap 11/2 duke cs trap..

I run 1 1/2's for coon but after seeing the DP's in action while in Mo., I will be getting some for next year! Can think of several places to use them so I dont have to post signs (Okla. law) nor will I have to worry about frozen water.

they are great when the creeks freeze up and you cant put in pockets you can use them and still catch coon

If I am running a line and trapping coon is one of the last checks, then the DP is my traps

what kills me is i can run 220s for the same price on land and get coon, possum, and fox but DP look cool and light weight for them long lines

dp's will catch possums and skunks as well But WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU SHOULD CATCH A DOG IN A 220 ?
also think on these terms how many dp's can you get in a pack compared to 220's ? LOT MORE.

I think DP stand's for Dog Proof I think this is the reason these traps where invented.
So the questein becomes is buyiing these traps worth my while if it allows me to set in places that I would not normally be able to set in do to dogs. If you do not think that catching a dog is a big deal then your answer would have to be NO.
If you think staying away from domestics is good for trapping in the long haul then the answer is YES.
