How many of you prefer Oneida victor quality over comparable traps such as sleepy creek or perhaps bridger

I like Bridger & MB coil springs, I have some Dukes and some old #2 Victors and my old favorite for fox my 1 3/4 Northwoods.
My conibears are all duke, although I'd like to get some Belisle.
I haven't messed with the new Victors.

Please help me here. Bridger #3's as a stock out of the box coyote/bobcat trap is ideal!!!!!! Yes there are guys running some of theses traps"tricked out" ie base plates laminated etc, etc. But it's totally and completely unnecessary. I have run coyote/bobcat lines in Montana on a 3 day to 5 day plus check and had zero foot damage on coyotes and bobcats in Bridger #3 traps.Heck I've used a few Bridger #2's on these line with no foot damage. I know there are guys/lady's that like modified traps,I get that. But if you are about production ie eliminating problem coyotes you need to set traps for the whole litter. I have many times ran 30 dozen Bridger #3 and #2 traps total on different 3 to 5 day lines.I( caught,on the average 331 coyotes a fur season in leg hold traps.I stopped trapping when they got too rubbed to sell.I trapped like this for 12 years through the great fur prices and the not so great fur prices.I trapped for the little grazing associations. The ones you won't see unless you look hard out here.If you want to learn coyote knowledge dend me any email.

I agree, modding a trap is not needed. They work like they are designed if you use the right trap for the right critter, modding is a waste of my time. I also think that if you like to mod your traps, go for it!
