I've always run "basic trap sets ".Back in the "old days" in Montana I ran number 2 Montgomeries/Bridgers for fox then coyotes as coyotes moved in.Grawe's,Weiland's and Carman's baits and lures piled up red fox carcasses in wind rows. When the foxes thinned out and we dealt with the remaining coyotes. Lure and bait choices became interesting. A lot of "fox lures" just weren't attractive to coyotes.A lot of the lures for "coyotes" were junk, not really attractive. I learned to relay on Russ Carman,Gary Jepson and John Grahams lures. To catch coyotes.Carmans TKO and Gary/Then John"s Fur Country Lures. It got to point that I just used Fur Country Lures on my split lines.

For commercial lures, You can't beat those formulated by Mr. Carman!
I used his lures most of the time, occasionally I'll use another maker's lure to mix it up, but Carman's always makes the catch.
