Had a friend at work build me a puller for my Wolf Fangs last year and it worked great. Well it has been a couple of months since we have had any rain in south Louisiana and when I went to pull traps Monday morning I destroyed the puller. Had to open up j-hooks to get my traps. I'm thinking about a long demo bar with a chain hook welded to it for the redesign. What does everyone else use?

I leave mine in and like you just open the J-hook with a pair of fence plyers- use them a couple seasons and then cut the cable - mark the set a little ways off high - then a single strand of trap wire off the cable- look at were the J-hook was conected before you set it again - just my way -D-

I leave mine in to, I made some with 1/8" cable, wax,t them and so far I been usingthem 4 years and still catching coon. as far as a puller I think you could make one easy, sturdy but lite would be the way to go if you have to pull. or cut them, but you will need a good cutter like Glenn said
