I have always used white gas (coleman lamp gas) and a real thin mix at least 1 gallon gas to 1 Qt dip or more gas to thin it out.

I used gas dip one year. Used Coleman fuel. Worst year I ever had.

I have to use a speed dip, if I was to dye and wax that is all I would be doing. Formula one mixed a little thinner than the can says works great. Dry's in 24 hours or less and you use water instead of gas. Wears really good, blood and urine come off easy with a little dirt scrub. I use the same trap at different sets and the yotes are not digging them up. Just my 2 cents.

Not much of a speed dip fan here.. I boil and dye on propane burner. Stainless pots and sumac berries/bark. I use paint bag strainers and berries in the bags (home depot 5.00)
These bags are designed to filter 5gallons for sprayrs so there is some size and mesh is quite fine
