Has any one taken them down to 2 coil instead of the 4 coil, Good or bad idea, getting arthritis in my hands and don't like to use the setters so just wondering if some one else has done this.

Agree them one hand setters make setting a no loose jawed trap a dream to set as safe as it gets, I thought gimmick at first the once I used them they worked way better then I thought they would!

Lawdog I run the MB650s have never taken them down to 2 spring,,, love the trap it damm near beds itself. I don't belong to the IBTC, (itty bitty trap committee) I have seen a coyote will fight less with a bigger trap, #3 and bigger is all I run for coyotes, not sure how they would operate with 2 springs, but with the high end wire springs on them I will bet they do just fine.

Have had a spring pop off of one side and it held no problem but the speed of the 4 coil is sweet and the cast O/S jaws on a MJ are gentle.
