I took a part time job in an apple orchard this morning. The job is nothing more than driving a tractor, giving hay rides to the orchard customers and a few other odds and ends. It doesn't pay all that well, but I can always use a few extra bucks and after asking about any deer problems they may be having, I already have permission to help thin them and the rabbits out when they close for the season. I didn't want to push things, so I haven't asked about trapping yet, but after talking to the owner, I wouldn't be surprised if he lets me set a few traps, too.
A little pocket money never hurt anyone that I know of! LOL I'm on call for the Sheriff's Office 24 hours a day some months I work a day or 2 and some times 6-8 days in a month I never know. They can call a retired Trooper buddy if I can't do it or if it's trapping season. Many calls at 2 AM to take people to the Happy house that's a 6 hour drive round trip. I can't average over 20 hours a week or the State retirement gets huffy.
Born in the Big City will die in the Country OK with that!!!
A little extra comes in handy when getting new equipment. I'm working 2 and sometimes 3 days a week at Bass Pro and the discount doesn't hurt either. The Pension pays everything related to the house and groceries and the extra is spending money.

Good deal guys. They hired me just to drive the tractor, but they told me if I got bored between runs I could do the other things "if you want to". I'm not one to sit around, so I've been keeping busy with whatever I see that needs doing and I found some extra money in my pay for it. They're good people to work for. Free coffee, cider and donuts, too. LOL
