I have decided to get into trapping, primarily for coyotes here in south central Montana as we have several around our property and they are taking their toll each year on deer, especially fawns. I have traps that are probably 25 years old that my dad used to use when he trapped coyotes. He's been gone now for almost 11 years and probably never trapped 10 years prior to that but he always took great care of his gear. I'd like to use his old traps for getting started. They appear to have been waxed and dyed and have always been stored in a heavy plastic tote. My question, do I need to boil these traps and re-apply wax to them, grease the springs at all or any other kind of maintenance to them or just hang em out to air out to get any scent off them? Appreciate your advice, thanks

I would say NO GREASE. If the wax job looks ok set them. Then show us some catches. Good luck
