When I go camping I always think of how can I feed myself from the land. With that said I always look for ponds, lakes or streams. I have been camping when I wasnt close to a body of water and still got my dinner from the land around me. With that said I have eaten field mice, robins, worms, grubs. The food is out there you just have to look and not be picky about what you will eat.
When spring as sprung here I will share some pictures of edible wild plants, but dont just take my word. Before you eat any wild plant do your homework and research. Some plants look alot alike and the wron gone can make you very sick or even kill you. I have a few books on edible wild plants that I will share the titles for also.

Amen, I do the same on most of my outings, I always catch a few fish or snare a grouse or something, never gone hungry, one time, me and my brother were out moose hunting and we found a TON of freshwater clams.
I always like to set goals, like, Iw ill get dropped off, say, 5 miles out, then I can't some back till I have supplied my self with 3 good meals just from whet I carry on a regular basis. You learn real fast, them I hike all teh way back. I never seem to find enough time to do it very much but this summer I plan to do alot more
it beats gettin high. I think it helps "clear out" my mind. sometimes I loose a little weight too.....

Bow drill is the best way to go behrant, Me and grandpa tried most of the ways he learned in the marines, and what the indians (like his grandparents) taught him and it was the fastest and most effiecient,

My Great Grandfather hunted Fisher and Bobcat in Northern maine during the 30's and 40's. ha and his dog would be gone for up to 4 days with just a slab of salt pork small frying pan his dog and a 22 rifle thats it. The diet was all protein from grouse, rabit, and beaver if he saw one in open water. one bobcat paid him more than a weeks salary of cutting wood with a horse, and that was just the bounty he also got to keep the pelt to sell. This old fella sure showed me a lot of stuff
