I did up 6 of the old Vic #2 square jaws this summer...
New #2 music springs, outside lam, baseplate w/ d-ring, #3 chain with 3 crunch-proofs, nightlatched the dog, and set tension at 3 lbs.
A lot of monkey business, but I got the traps for free. Find out how they do on coyotes in about a month.

Nice job, I like the #2 Vic's. I think the ones with the jaws that go outside and hook in are the ones that everybody doesn't like. I know I have a few and I wont use mine for yotes. I use mine for mink on drowners.

JT, I don't target coyote but the population here is growing so there is a chance at getting one. Some of my traps have the double stake washer but not all, didn't have enough and will change as I go. I make my own stake with 1/2" rebar and weld a large washer on top. They are 20" and 24" long and use acording to the ground. I have cought both red and greys and have not had a problem yet, but do admitt this is only my third year and have not learned all yet ;D. But yes I do plan on doble stakeing all my traps as I go so when I do catch my first coyote there will be no problem.......hopefully.

Looks like you did a good job. I like your jaw laminations, they really look good. You have a lot better trap now than you did before.

Good deal shorter chains, one stake, and a big yote equals a bad deal .
