it will work if you keep it under a 100 yards its a slow moving round that dont have a hole lot of punch to it

Shoot what your good with, HOWEVER, I would use a smaller caliber due to the amount of damage it will do to the fur. small entrance hole but the size of a baseball going out. My pefered caliber is a 17HMR with a head shot in the ear or eye.

Most .30 Carbine fodder is FMJ. It will kill yotes and fox clean out to 100-150 yards. Ive pushed mine out to 200 but the scope is a big key.

They made a 30-30 accelerator many years back and for the 30-06 also, a .22 bullet with a 30cal plastic sabot that opened up like a shotgun wad after it cleared the muzzle.

I still got some in .30-06. Hard to find, illegal in some states as the bullet is hard to match/trace. Flat shooters. I think they made a run of'em in .270 too? .30 carbine is a small round. Maybe 85gr? Ive got some soft points for hunting up north. Had uncles and deer camp attendees that used .30 carbine, carbines and Rugers.
