I really like the MB550's. They are easy to set and bed very well here! I use other traps as well like Duke 1 3/4, #2, and #4. They all work! I would have to say that the 550 is prob my favorite but the others have a place on my line also!
Bait/lure...... I have used so many and change them up a lot throughout the season. With that said, last season I used Last Dance bait and Swamp Dog lure from Morgan Lures quite a bit and the results were awesome! You gotta give them boys from Pa. some "props" as they know their stuff!! This year I hope to try some products from London Lure Co. as I have heard great things from a couple of their items.
Hayden, you have to understand that any product that has stayed on the market in the trapping world (over the years), is productive somewhere at some point in time. Buy what you can afford and perfect your techniques to suit your environment/animals. The best rated lure/bait in the world will not catch a cat for you if there are none in your area (same with other animals). Location is very important and it is probably IMO the most important "basic step" in trapping. As far as the traps go, like stated above, get what you can afford at the time. Remember, the best trap is one that has "fur" in it when you check it!!

If i was going to use a trap that was only for coyotes, it would have to be the MB650! Since i run into more fox than coyotes I use the mb550. As far as a lure goes, well CDR gave you about the best advice that i have heard in a long time on a trapping forum! Just take note that if you are going to trap into the winter months that you get a lure that can take it!!
