Can't comment on the MB. The Necker is a decent knife but I prefer a Post.
May have to break down and buy a Steel Rose, because Tim still hasn't given me one for free yet.

I have a Necker 700 its older then some on here but works sweet I keep an cheap-o for rats and the thinner furs!

I have no eperience with the MB, but use a necker 600 myself! Yes i do sharpen the sharp side of the knife when i am fleshing beaver and the back of the neck on coon.

I have Tim Rose's knife, I like it better than the necker that i have. But the feller i trap with likes the beaver so i was thinking about getting an MB for the beaver. I think it all comes down to personal preference, what you get you can afford and what you get use to.

Use a necker 600 ,a steel ,file(stainless file and yes there is a differance ) ,daimond lap , latter two are the best but theres a way to use a file and its along the blade ,not across it
a sharp flesher seems to be more forgiving once your use to fleshing and after a couple the memerory kicks in gear
not tried Tim's knife but watch about every demo he has given here at home
