There is something about that short walk from the fur shed to the truck in the morning when the wind is dead calm and the air has that cold brisk feel to it and there is a touch of frost on the ground and there is just enoug light to see what you are doing!!!

Oh boy, this is tough...there all favorite times!!! I would have to say the one that got my blood pumping the most was the morning i caught my coyote. The second one would need to be when i caught my first mink and a red, that was a good day!
Then there's the early december morning when i'm walking through the woods to check some local empty mink traps. The smell of the brisk morning, maybe a skiff of snow on the ground, sun is just rising.... aaahh, sure can't beat those days either!!

A cool fall morning thats damp aired with the faint smell of skunk that says trapping season is just around the corner!
2nd would be after I sell its such a relief to not have to worry about anything getting damaged by freezers quiting, mice, bugs, moisture, fire ect. The money has the least to do with is as much as the lost labor issue to me!

Mine has to be when am out on the walkin line or the sled and you look up and see all the stars and the nothern lights,or when am coming up to a set and something dont look right but cant tell what it is,have to keep from running up to it LOL,but more than those is seeing my son's eyes when we get something in a trap other than a squirrel or rabbit Hoping to get the daughter out there with me this year.

Mine has to be the feeling you get when you know there is something there but, you don't know what it is yet. The closer you get, the more you can hear your heart pound.(not from me running to it !!) LOL..The woods are always so quiet. I look forward to shareing this with my Grandson this year....

also i like hopping into the creek just as the sun is coming up and theres fog rising from the water and everything is quiet then you hear a slight rattling of a chain :-)

like walking(driving 2nd) on the the line right after a snow has came thru ,the calm, quite air and everything is running ,just have to be a little patient not go to early and let the critters do there job and move also carry the rifle for the just incase chance

mini, the one thing ii hate is when that 220 smacks onto your fingers on a cold day but everythin els is just heaven, from the time you wake up to the time your hanging up fur. the wake up with cofee going makeing sure you have all of your things together headed out to the cold brisk air eager to get to the line see the critters running fog flowing above the water birds starting to chirp the calm flow of the stream walking threw the quiet woods all alone with the ocational slap to the water of mamma beavers tail just everything is a dream
