I have shipped to Nafa before. Not a member of the Wild Fur Shippers Council. I think if you shipped enough fur, the commission dif would help. As far as the WFSC dividend, sometimes its only a few cents (sometimes more) from what I've been told.......

I thought about it, then realized I probably don't send them enough to make it worth while. I didn't send them anything last year but wish I did. I think next year I'll just sell my beaver local and ship the rest.

The wfsc pay for it's self in no time.Heck for 20 dollars a year it's a great deal. save 2% and no shipping fee
I guess it depends on the amount of furs you ship if it would pay or not.

Correct on the shipping fee if a route driver comes near you! Last time I checked, the nearest pickup place was over 100 miles west of me..... I do wish I'd shipped my cats there last year... lol

It's 20 bucks a year? I thought it was 100$ and 3% back. I figured I'd have to clear 3000$ to get my money back.

bigtwinhd, straight from the site:
You have the option of joining the NAFA Wild Fur Shippers Council. For a onetime payment of $100, you can become a Wild Fur Shippers Council member for five years.
The WFSC membership year runs from November 1 to October 31, therefore new memberships will expire on October 31st, four years after the year of joining.
Membership is optional.
The commission rate charged on your fur will be reduced by 2% for five years from the first sale of the season you join. The commission rate for all trappers is 11% but as a member of the WFSC you’ll pay only 9%.
WFSC members using NAFA’s collectors, depots or pick up services will also receive free freight in Canada or handling charges in the USA for five years. Freight to the Depot or collector location is not covered.

Ok, upon further investigation, i decided i would figure out how much money i would have saved this yr if i would have payed the 100 bucks and became a member of WFSC member.
This is what i found.
Total Sales & Avg Price 12 26.67 320.00 AUCTION COMMISSION@ 11.00% 35.20 RED FOX DRUMMING@ 0.75 Per Skin 4.50 COYOTE DRUMMING@ 1.00 Per Skin 1.00 W F S C REBATE@ 2.00% -6.40 NET SALE AMOUNT 285.70
OK, so i add up all the admition, drumming fee's ect and come up with $40.70.
Then i subtracted, this $40.70, from the $320.00. (the $320 is before they take the fee's out)
That = $279.00 Which is exactly $6.40 less then what they said i have. $6.40 is 2% of $320.00.
Then i looked closer and it said what i have highlighted in bold! According to my calculations, they charged me 9% admition, because i am a WFSC member?
I never joined it... they did send me a suscription to the "internatinal trapper" magazine for 10.00.
I dont understand?? This was my first year of shipping to them...this was my second batch of fur i shipped as well.
Any help here?

Mark, I will check my paper work, but it did say the same on my account info, but nothing about me joining the WFSC.
And, yes I do plan on pointing this out to them if it is a mistake! Thanks for your input! I will also check my irst sale that i made with them on their FEB. sale.
See if things add up!
Thanks again for your input!

Ok, reporting back for the latest news on what i'm finding out.
Seems to be a mistake on NAFA's part, both my sales have the WFSC member benefit of 2% taken off the 11% admition.
I got paid exactly what they said i would on the account as well. So i got paid for the 2% tacked off.
Now a question for ewoke! You stated if your a member of the WFSC, they didnt charge you to drum your fox/yotes. If they made a mistake, to thinking im a member of WSFC wich i m reasenably sure they did...they did charge for drumming....is what you stated a new recent rule?
It could pay off for me to join the membership to the WFSC if they didnt charge me to drum furs...if they still do, it will not pay for itself!
