Could any of you post pictures of how you have your fleshing beams setup ? I am having a heck of a time designing something that could possibly be folded up when not in use. Thank you.

Here's a couple of mine, up and down. I made the leg adjustable with a length of rod through it to the foot. A square nut is welded on the square tubing and it is locked with another nut. Only problem, I need to move it up to lower the beam. The leg is too long and I'm about done growing. Shrinking more then likely.... I don't have any closer pictures of the leg or hinge. If you would like some let me know.

Here's a question for everyone about their beams, do you prefer a rounded beam or a flat beam? I myself like flat beams.

I prefer a beam that is slightly rounded. The reason i say this, is because when it comes to fleshing beaver i prefer to take strips off rathern than one big section. I feel a person can be more precise when using the sharp side of knife on a curved beam. If it were for coon only, i think a beam that is rounded to match the curve of your knife would be ideal.

My first beam was a 2 x 6 that I made pointy with the skillsaw. One of those, huh, caught a coon, now what moments! I did very poorly with it and would rip holes at the corners if my blade wasn't held real flat. Though I haven't advanced much beyond the head scratching stage in this game I can't totally blame the beam. Too much pressure, dull knife, ect. was also part of it. Now with this new beam I need to think of new excuses as to why holes are in the wrong spots!

never tried one ewok. I have kicked around the idea of one made out of very large PVC.
