Welcome to the forum!!! Take a look through the archives, nd other boards throughout the forum...there is much to be learned!!!!
My favorite baits for coon is the following.
#1, fresh fish...I use creek chubs as they are very easy to get a good supply of around here! Any fish will work...coons aren't picky!
#2, sweet baits! Baits consisting of spearmint, cherry, persimmon, anise, or any fruit type smell! We have several good lure and bait makers on this site, as well as a lure and bait board where you can learn to make your own lures and baits!
Welcome, and just remember... if your not whre the critters are at, even the best bait won't help your success!~

The two coons i have caught were on sets where i have put chicken feather all over my traps in a walk through set with a big stick or bark channling him and than put some fish oil on the bark or stick and some enticing lure say dobbins purrfect outlaw or something like that.. These worked for me.. of course thats not saying much! If i was you id go to www.Trapperman.com and go to their archives WAY more.. not saying here isnt good just not as many topics in the archives...

Most of my coon trapping is for ADC work and I am trying to avoid cats and possums so I try to stick to very loud sweet lures and a bunch of home made ones with fruit and honey as a base.

If you can afford it jack mack is the way to go for convienance. Also this time of year it works about the best. Warmer weather is best with some kinds of sweet baits or marshmallows. You didn't mention what kind of trap or what type of sets you are using. Another thing is the weather. This season it has not been a typical one. The coon just haven't been working sets for most of us like they usually do. Tuna is more expensive than jack mac too. You can usually get more than double for the same price. Another thing you can do is mix other things with the Jack. If you have the money, one of the best things I have come up with is Blackies Blend Fatal Attraction. Mix about 2 tablespoons with the can of Jack. It really jazzes up the bait and is stronger in cold weather. I usually don't mix it up until mid-late December because of how strong it can be. Hope this helps and try to give a little more info when asking a question, it can get you a better answer and sometimes a lot shorter one. lol

another thing you can add just a little liwuid smoke to it for cold weather and that makes it really shine for every thing from coon to cats
