Spray it with raid. I personally just skin and freeze as normal. Then make sure you shower when done.

Hi jamz I use 2 methods, one is to just spray the critter down with a can of raid, toss him in a garbage bag, give the inside of the bag a little shot then seal it for a couple hours, most fleas will be dead by then. You can also wash him in flea and tick shampoo for dogs, gets rid of the fleas and cleans them up nice. Ron

shower whats that lol, I found some raid and sprayed it, I don't think I ever seen so many on the critters yet, thanks for the advise. Also I was meaning to ask I lyonch I seen your video's where you throw the fur in the washer after skinning, do you do it again after fleshing or is the one rinse good enough, I done the coon and turned out good, but man he had been eating beans and he was as fat as a pig, and I had to clean out the washer

The only fur I wash is any fur out fur. If it is fur in I just comb it out or rinse it in a stream before I get home. Just the one wash before fleshing is all it needs. Heads up on fur in animals, the leather will get a really dirty look if you ever wash them after you flesh.

i have found that coyotes are much easier to flesh if you wash AFTER you flesh...once that water gets under that membrane it turns to rubber and is a pain to get off...

Mr. Walkercoonhound you are so right --its a pain in the bottom to flesh any critter if you wash them before you flesh them -- I spray -leave them set till dry- skin-comb out the burs and then wash - wring out the hide -a little shot of downey to get the dog smell out -rinse- hiide side out dry and then turn [fur out and stick em on the fur dryer--D-
