If you have gray fox you had best either have good swivels or a cable that wont break easily when it twists up. I have had grays twist 3/32 7x7 until the cable was shortened to about 6 inches as they will roll around a lot.

BBB
Have you ever tried those in-line swivels?I was looking at them.Don't know if it's worth it.
Any opinions on them?

I have been meaning to try them but other constraints of time have prevented me from trying them. Cant see as to why they wouldnt work except maybe for snaring otter but that is another topic.

If those in-line swivels hold up to otter, they would mostly hold up to anything..

I'm stuck with 3/32 cable, relax lock,break-away s-hook and in an no entanglement..It;s the States goofy law.I'm still trying to figure out the entanglement issues LOL..I can't see them not getting in a tangle... ewok you dont have to use the shook BAD...you can also use the amberg BAD ferrule... and there are many many locks on the market thats considered a relaxing lock....more than you would think....about everything made without a moving part like the cam lock is legal here in PA...its just when you use the washer style lock then you have to make sure you stay to thier limits.... i use the micro lock and they are considered a relaxing lock....

Walker...
THANK YOU!!!!! I've asked that question about the locks so many times I lost count!!!!I have a pile of sure locks. So this means I can use them then. This means I can make one snare for beavers and k-9's.Now on that bad Ferrule, don't you need a certin type of tool for that.I have most of the stuff because of Snare'n Beavers.

yes you need the amberg crimper to crimp them to the specified limit...
and im not familiar with the sure locks so i cant advise on that one...i know i had my micros looked at by harrisburg and they sent me the letter back saying it was a legal lock for PA

The sure lock is a bigger version of the micros.I'll still call the WCO office and see if they are still confused....

Ah gotcha Scott, thanks. Any issues using the EMT? I had thought of making some out of the black iron 3/4 pipe.

I like the 7*7 1/16 cable for foxes. I find the stiffer wire ( 1*19 I think) does not put them down so good. I think it is to stiff and the fox cannot really tighten down the lock so good.
