Is a joke! Ain't hardly a fish to be caught most days, but that doesn't stop us hardy fools from trying. Old man had to kill that coyote out the camp window that I missed last weekend, and then another at 2:30 am. Ain't so hard with a shotgun and I still firmly believe the one I shot at died elsewhere. Coyotes were picked up by a fella before we showed up, but here's camp. We got our traps out for salmon and togue and had nary a flag all day! Excluding wind flags that cause much excitement for the kiddos anyhow. So, what to fill our time with? Build a castle of course! Polar bear club anyone? Even ma helped with the tongs. Any castle must have a strong defense. And a few heathens. I expected a few flags after touching her off, but to no avail.. Boy had a time pulling roadies with the Kitty Kat! No fish, but a helluva good time anyhow!

We are down to the Lakeview end, near the outlet. Ice fishing has always sucked in this lake but you go into it knowing this. My folks put on a good feed and we just have a good time. They are actually putting up the house for sale so it'll just be the camp to hide in someday. Spent a good many summers bass fishing this seven mile puddle.
I heard of a video some guys made of five foot togue while diving in Schoodic, though I doubt it!

Nice Luke! You oughtta fill that cannon with buckshot then you wouldn't miss those yotes! I did the same thing the other night, fell asleep out in the shed and woke up to the ccrunching of deerbones, spotlight showed eyes, and for some reason in my sleepy state I thought I'd be better shooting behind the shoulder, I forgot all I had was my .22 mag. What a dummy, I was actully surprised at the crack of the rifle, was expecting a boom like with a real rifle, anyway got tons of blood at first, then just drops, then just a drop every 50 yds and hard to track on the crusty snow

The north end of the lake seems to get most of the action, though we won the whole derby a few years back with a pitifully small togue from right in front of the house. SDA you fell asleep in the shed? Now how, pray tell, did you manage that? Get into the vodka soaked castor a little did we?

If you get the right dumpster recliner the movement of the mice dancing in the cushions adds a nice vibrate mode too!
Hey do you recall the mouse chewings on those nailed out beaver? I set and set for those little buggers and got a few, but was getting my traps destroyed. Things were empty and blown apart half the time. I set up the old standby bucket with water and black oil sunflower seeds with a big smear of peanut butter on the side. I stirred up the seeds and peeked in the other night and saw the biggest dang mouse ever! Figured I had rats in the shed and we don't even have them around these parts. Looks like juvinile grey squirrels maybe, but the eyes are real big. Have to pull one out to make sure they ain't the flying type. No wonder my little snap traps were all stove up!

Red squirrel? Them's the purple ones right? Dinkweed. I have photographic evidence and will post pictures of the evil beaver flesh eating creature after I am done in the shed later.

Alright, alright, I'm loading pictures of em now. Figured you could identify them for me since you sent some to NAFA along with your half eaten rats and infant beaver.

It's on another thread dinkweed, in the trapping board! Ha! I hardly had any fur up north this sale. I cringe to think what you did to your fisher since mine brought so much more money AND had green belly! (If I could make a smiley face sticking out his tounge I would right now) Here it is!

Unfortunately the old blue dumpster has been pretty much retired to plowing snow and firewood duty. A darned shame. I may be buying a truck from the old man this spring. A 2001, man, already 11 years old. My truck is an 88 and my last one was a 77! What a leap into the future!
Until then I'll just use the company van, the loser cruiser....
