Just had one delivered after using someones else's on the otter..
Man that made quick work of some late raccoon...Used their curved special beaver knife to score the grizzle behind the ears and the fleshing knife just peeled it away..Highly recommended.

Ah good, good, good. I like this thread. You two are making me feel good. I just ordered a post fleshing knife and a 3.5" skinner from Tmrschessie yesterday for my wife . She doesn't like the Sheffield as its just too big and clumsy for her. Thought about the necker 600, but the first one I got a few years ago was dull and had a wavy blade. I sold it after finding out I didn't like it one bit. I think she'll like the post, ifn she can steal it from me lol. Cant wait to try it out.

Pappa I have owned about 6-8 fleshin knives the last one was back in the late 70s and I bought it off a boy and thought that was the best knife I had ever owned --buddy I was wrong that Post is a lot better knife ,, ya need to buy the wife one as a birthday present or what ever is comming up next ? but I would not let anyone touch mine--D- Oh forgot one thing be very carefull when you do your first couple hides and also watch your hands that puppy is sharper then a razor....

x2..it is sharp as heck...takes a minute or two to get used to the spine on it compared to the necker...dont grip the puppy too tight..just barely in your grip is plenty.

Thanks guys, will do as directed. Will proceed with caution. This knife does have the dull side to push and the sharp side for shaving right?

Yes, but even the dull side has some bite...not sharp, but you'll see what I mean when I say the "spine" is different.

Well, well well, looks like I'll have to get one just to keep up with you fellas. I can't let that "d" be ahead of me, can I? Actually, I use a necker and am not happy with it so I have been shopping. What is Tom's address and web site? David

I was looking at the post flesher.I don't know if I'd like the handles on it.I was also looking at the Caribou. My buddy has one and that is one knife that I never see advertised here in the States. That Caribou he has is 3 years old and never seen a stone. He just takes the back side of a strait/fixed blade knife and runs it a crossed the sharp side to knock down the fine burrs. The killer is he puts furs up for other trappers.I know that knife sees over a 1000 coon and at least 400 beaver a year...

Got a reply from Tom and was told I HAD to contact him on troubleman. Since I only lurk there and don't partake in their silliness, I'll be ordering mine from Bailey's also. Today, I might add. David

Bob , it aint going to kill you to spend a little of that fur check , when you get that new Post then you can go over to T-Man and sell it .. Frank you know it wouldnt hurt to ask about a ATT discount , I am buying another one to keep in case something was to happen -think it was Lonnie that dropped his and took a chunk out--D-

The necker will still see work on the fox, but thats probably about it.

I ordered mine today. $93.00 and change from NH. He who dies with the most fleshing knives wins! That is how it goes isn't it? I will be getting them Post skinning knives also but at the cost, I'll have to do it a bit slower. David

I got a couple of question. Is the Post flesher as thick and heavy as a Necker 600 and is the Post hollow ground? Is it sharp on both sides?

I got a couple of question. Is the Post flesher as thick and heavy as a Necker 600 and is the Post hollow ground? Is it sharp on both sides? It is sharp on one side and dull on the other. I can't comment on the other question because I have not used a necker.
