her im minnesota i must have the top loop of my snare no more themn 16 inches high how would you set a snare for coyotes here? thanks!

There is no set height to follow 100% as each trail or situation is going to vary to some degree. As a general rule I have my coyote snares 12" - 14" from the ground to the bottom of the loop... If you have duck unders, Crawl throughs, jump overs Etc you will have to use your best judgemet on how to set your loop for those individual situations... Best Of Luck!

courtesy of bill Snare & Cable Restraint Loop & height Chart Snare & Cable restraints loop and height coon 6-8 inch loop/ 4 inch high fox 8 inch loop /8 inch high coyote 10-12 inch loop/10-12 high beaver 10 inch loop/2 inch high beaver tail snared full loop / bottom of snare on ground (using a five ft snare)
