Take a corn cob and run a double wire thru and bend up on the end an take two free ends and wrap around a vertical tree limb or post. Now apply your call lure.Put on Post or limb about 6 feet off the ground.LarryGene

Good one! If you're trapping around dried standing corn stalks you can cut a stalk to 4-5' tall bend over the top 6" so it faces toward the ground and poke your call lure up into the pith in the center. Helps keep the rain from washing it off as fast.

Here's another. Save the front sleeves you cut off your coon hides. Leave them fur in. Staple one end shut. Poke a hole in the leather at the other end. Pass a string through the hole with a needle, and tie off. Pour your call lure into the open end of this sleeve. Tie the string to a tree limb so the sleeve hangs and blows in the breeze. It will not only disperse the lure while keeping it from drying out, but the movement of the sleeve also has eye appeal.

The leg "cuff" you trim off the front legs of a coon so they are not to long and it keeps them from hanging downward from the weight if the leg is not trimmed!!!! Would be the extra front leg fur/skin between the elbow and the wrist, each trapper has their own put up so the lenght is up to you just don't cut the leg to short as it will just leave a hole and not look as neat!

Actually, you aren't limited to coon cuffs; you can use them off fox, coyote, oppossum, etc, hides, too.

35mm film canisters and cotton balls work good too. Cut a small hole i t he lid and side and use twne to tie the two together and clothespins to hang it with on a twig/limb etc. We've used scrapes of deer etc hide too and sheeps wool is great too we found out this past year.
