Been off forum for a while, but checked in to see how things were going. On the weasels if a person is not afraid of catching the cat (or the neighbors cat) this simple little set up works as good as anything I have ever run across. The trap is a 1 1/2 victor and would be considered overkill for weasel except for the fact that they work as a killer trap. In an "0" or #1 that foot catches them they will ring around and bloody the pelt, but the #1 1/2 put's them right out so they stay clean. If set right the situation in the pic's happens consistently. Find a natural cubby hole or build one like in the last pic. Put a squirrel carcus in the back (or what ever you have for bait). Turn the trap spring towards the back of the set and center the trap pan well with the bait and set, use a little giude stick if needed. If you turn the spring towards the front of the set you end up with more leg catches, I think because the spring pops them up when the trap trips. Also this way if the weasel is frozen when you find him it is easy to remove him from the trap since his back legs will not be wrapped around the spring and froze solid.
