hey yall, im newer to this site but im also known as jameson on trapperman... my real name is pierce and im asking for tips from yall. i am very involved in tennis and right now i am having to spend alot of time with it and im running out of time to trap. so i can set about a dozen or 2 dozen sets tops and i want to target mink on my wetlands and a waterway that ive seen mink runnin in before. my wetlands are frozen and there is about 1 to 2 inches of snow on the ground. so any advice or tips would be really appreciated. happy trapping and thanks for any tips

ya. i have #1.5 victor coils #1 longsprings and 110 conis. any type of set that can work in snow and use these traps. along with somethin that doesnt require alot of time to make the set... my time is limited to check. kill sets would also be very nice. but anythin that will catch a mink will be awsome

Jameson, does the are you are looking at have rat huts, and in your state can you make sets on rat huts?
The 110, look for mink trails through the tall grass and set the 110 in the trails. The #1 is going to be the wrong trap if you can not make a drownding set.

yes they have alot of huts. the issue is that right before the freeze we got alot of rain and then it froze. the huts got flooded out... i know the rats are in there somewhere but its hard to locate where they moved. i actually caught a mink in a 110 set in a hut entrance before the freeze... big buck. and i believe we can set on the huts. at least i have with no problems. i have 4 wetlands and a big waterway runnin through some crp grass to trap... thats where i see the mink

Check your regulations first. But if you can set on the hut above water line, a pocket set in the side of the hut batied with rat meat has worked well for me.

This is just me, but I would put the 110 on a couple sticks, 1/8 to 1/4" thick, keeps the trap from freezing in.
