I gave a good friend a lab puppy at the price of a smile and a handshake. Well wouldn't you know it he sent me a cabela's giftcard to show his appreciation. Some folks just can't receive a gift! Anyhow, I have always had a soft spot for knives and burnt the card up on a Alaska Muskrat/ Cub Bear combo set. I checked them out this winter in the store but the price chased me off. I just finished my last beaver today using a victorinox typical beaver semi blunt nosed and a small dexter russell bolens. They work great and I really didn't need any more knives for ma to wash, but...... Am I alone? They'll never outlaw knifes right?

Crocodile Dundee, "That ain't a knife........THIS is a knife"!!!
That makes my little muskrat skinner look a little, shall we say, inadequate?
Did you make the knife and the sheath? Very nice. I have a couple unusual ones I'll take a picture of later, maybe you guys might know a little of their history?

That is a nice looking knife, but I'm not a fan of big knives.
Yeah, I love knives, if I had the money I would have a collection of custom knives and a shop with all the equipment to make them.
I do scrimshaw and make some pretty nice handles, I buy the blades from various suppliers. Don't have any photos, maybe nxt time my grandson visits I will have him take a couple of pictures and post them.

Got the knife from a friend who comes up with the ideas for knives and has a very good smith forge them for him. The blade is 1/4" thick, the sheath came with the knife. It's a working knife for all kinds of chores, really like the sholder rig for carrying.

Hey Mark that knife is only sharp on the inside curve correct? Be real slick for opening cuts. This isn't so much a knife, but an old walking cane with a hidden sword. It was given to me by my father and to him by our forefathers. I need to pick my Grandmother's brain about it's history. The knob seems to be of silver and would wallop any young vagabonds squash quite nicely. If not it could easily be run through a man. The handle looks to be ivory or bone? And a neat little belt buckle of brass holds it together. The blade has some bluing with flames and gold inlay with engraving in it? Not the knife I meant to take a picture of, I'll post that one later. Ma's sick in bed and I'd catch the devil by the tail were I to go rummaging around in my war box looking for it!

Love blades. Prefer mine sleek and thin, very sharp as well. As a butcher in the past, the first day that a new knife was out of the box...all I can say is, OH MY.....time for a cold shower now.

I have a Case that looks like the middle one, only my blade is a little shorter and wider. I don't think I have ever seen a sheath with the safety strap split like that. I like the idea, even if it comes unsnapped the knife will stay in the sheath,

That split keeper strap sure is a slick looking idea.

Bigtwinhd, is that older knife in the middle a "Marble's"? Marble's had some good steel in them. Took a lot of whetting to get them sharp but they would hold an edge good.
