Just a quick post for some that may not know how to make a cable drown-er with a slide lock, the drown-er locks are older mb's, and the cable i use is 1/8Th" air craft cable. I make my drown-er cables with a 2 to 3" loop 10' long. First thing is to cut the cable. I use a 4 1/2" grinder with a cut off wheel. Next you want to slide a 5/16" nut over one end of the cable then loop back through with the tag end of the cable, set the loop size you want, now on the tag end slide a 1/4" nut on. Now to the vise and hammer the 1/4" nut to crip.(do not over crip you will cut the cable) Next hammer the 5/16" nut flat. Flip cable over slide on the drown-er lock short end to the cable. Slide lock on the cable. Repeat the first steps buy putting the nuts on and hammering them out to crimp the cable.Once you crimped the nuts on,cut off the little ends left hanging out of the 1/4" nut.
