I used brown paper lunch bags for my fox trapping this past season. Worked well for me.

I use polyfill and have always had good luck with it. I like it because you don't have to measure/but or anything like that - just rip a gob out of the bag, stuff it under the pan and you are in business. A disadvantage I have heard and could see is if the polyfill gets wet and freezes solid enough your trap might not go off. But I don't ever have a very dense wad under the pan if they makes sense, so it would not freeze as solid. Maybe just increase the pan tension a couple pounds lol.

This past season, I used something similar to polyfill under the pan. It is a little more spongy than poly fill. I got it at walmart in the sewing section. Had to cut it to fit, but it worked better than anything I have ever used. I covered with peat moss

Good old nylon screen material works the best for me! For my Sterlings and MB 650's I use the old #3 L/S size covers.

I have gone full circle. Started as a kid with wax paper. Went to polyfill, then trappers cap, Tried screen. Now i am back to wax paper.

Currently, I don't use pan covers because I use peat moss and ground up leaf litter to cover my traps instead of dirt. In the past, I have used waxed paper and leaves.

I've used "nothing" several times..... With that said, I do like the polyfill.
