Well another year has came and went, Think of all the time we spent, setting traps and diggin holes To get that fur, we pay’d the toll. In the rain, and in the snow, we had the heart to wake up and go. staying dry or getting wet, we'd walk a mile to make a set. in the water or in the ground, theres nowhere to hide when a trappers around. We catch em big, we catch em small, But in the end we skin em all. fox are up, coon are down, beaver price will make you frown. Stretchers full, traps are hung. Trapping season’s finally done. We prepare our fur for the sale, And add up our lies to make a tale, Of fighting fox and skunks that stink, To 100lb beaver and 20lb mink! It’s the life we love and were here to say, “Nothings better then a trappers day”

the day starts now at dawns first light, the steam from the water is a beautiful sight. the boats are all running its an intimidating sound, but mine is the baddest boat to be found. my rod and my reel with line and a bait, tournement champion is yours trullys fait. tension is high at my favorite hole, but i have my lucky lure and my pole. i cast and i real till i cant feel the pain, i fish in the sunlight and on through the rain. times almost up, i cant fish anymore, so i pack up my gear and race for the shore, i bring out my catches to weigh on the scale, and hold out my lunker by his lip and his tail. it is then i am blinded by the camera flash, cuz i won the tournement with a 15lb bass!

“Bill the Lure Maker”
He began making lures in his garage just for fun But the critters would smell them, tuck tail and run. he worked night and day, good health or fever, and developed a lure he called “Fighting Beaver” To him it smelled good, to us it smelled rank, But inside he knew, it was a trappers time to make bank. So back to the shed to mix and to blend, And another test lure to me he did send. As I opened the jar my senses took a blow, As I took a big whiff of bills new “Fox Pro” I knew right away what I held in my hand, Was a lure he could sell 1oz for a grand. I thought and i sniffed to see what he did but with a smile on my face I screwed on the lid. When I smell that ole lure I get chills up my spine, And it’s used on my sets, everyday on MY line.
