I kept the fur from a couple of rabbits last hunting season, cured it with salt, and cut it up into inch or so peices. plan on using it as a lure pad on rub sets. staple it to the post and putting lure on it. thought it would hold the lure longer and the wind picking it up better than just on the post its self. thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea..I just wonder if crows or stuff like that would mess with it...

I used it in dirt holes last year and on mink sets. Nothing bothered it but it did come up missing at two of my mink sets. I think it was a mink that just got around the trap though.

I do that with weasel sets. And it works well to hold lure. Not quite sure how it will work with canines though

it' just like a burlap bag you cut it on strips and take a metal comb and fluff it up and yes it works very well for canines but there is one draw back, cats will also work that post if they are on the cats travel route.if you look at my leaning post there is a q-tip that works the same way but i use a rubber band to hold the q-tip in place.thats my number 1 set here for greys and cats.the reason why both hugs holes and both hunts the same type of cover.now the reason i angle the post back is to prevent the greys from working the back side of the stake.
