Ohio. when I trap up north noticed a few times were the levers were froze down , just the levers ,, was thinking if they would have been wire it might have made a difference --Need some imput from our northern trappers if wire makes a difference-- yer thoughts Jerry --- Frerotte -D-

just thought it would be cool to take a duke #3 add Wire leavers and an expanded pan along with a heavy lam job so it looks like a mini CDR ans for the 1.5s I'd like something that will cut through frozen gumbo mud pretty well as it would look pretty slick !

Nothing cuts through frozen gumbo mud very well.The easiest solution would be better antifreeze methods for the gumbo. Wax dirt is the best method I've used but costly and time consuming to make in volume. Peat moss bedding and salt or calcium chloride mixed in dry dirt for a top coat. Just dry dirt with salt or calcium chloride to bed the trap in works too. You'll get some refusals though.When the ground freezes up I have gone to snares(if legal in your area). Bill

Stickin with peat moss , got a 55gal. barrel full and since I am headed north bet by seasons end I will see the bottom -D-

After lookin at the way there set up looks like a pain to set and with gloves in the winter even worse -D-

Yes D. Hard on your hands setting them. Also the wire allows the jaws to open some after the trap fires.

Wolfdog , y'all run a straight 3 dukie ? or do ya do a full mod. on it? myself I run a full modified -offset 3 Bridger with a shock spring , held a bunch of 3 toed cats and yet to see a yote pull out-D-

I been modifying some #2s&11/2s the last couple weeks at work I got a nice stick welder, but I realy need to get a tig welder for home I could get crazy on modification then
