when the snow falls use hay sets, snow hole sets, or sent post sets. after it falls, get on your knees whenre you the the coyotes will be traveling, and look for a object the sticks out to you and put some fox-in-heat stuff on it with a shot of urine and you should have some yotes and big ol male fox. I believe the fox breeding season is just now starting to get underway. and the yotes like to thrash fox

Ray12 ,I agree on hay bale type sets.I would see in the snow where they are crossing and just put you a small bale out in the middle broke up slightly and make a flat set in front of it,bury a bone ,leaving a bunch sticking up for eye appeal with lure on it and trap out 9-12 inches for coyote, blend in good.Be sure and gets pics of your coyote,My best,Larry Gene

This time of year I like to use a good call lure.
I'm sure you have snow on the ground now. Get out there and see where the K9's are funnelled down and set some snares.

Garett, it will work without snow and well too. But with the snow it stands out like a black spot on white paper. Make one or two Garett they work about anytime of the year.
Now some might laugh at this, but i dont care. Get down on you hands and knees and have your eyes 10-12" off the ground and look around at the area. This is very similar to the veiw a fox gets walking around. What you see that pops out to you the fox will se also. To me the spots that stick out to me are spots to make my sets. I do the same for mink, beaver etc. Give it a try and you will see things out of a new eye.

hay sets are nice cause 1. your traps don't freeze down. 2. you don't need an pan covers or anyting 3. they are REALLY FAST to make, 4. You don't need any lure or bait. 5, the set just gets so much better after you make a catch. 6 they are great for beginners cause trap placement isn't crucial, its effective, and easy.

the hay set is a great set but if there are cows in the feild it might not be such a good idea.. im sure the owner wouldnt be happy about you catchin one of his cows by the snout.
