Ardell Grawe whom I know personally makes a great bait!LarryGene Used it on coyote and Red Fox!!!!!!
Here it is:Big Stinky Coon
This coon bait is not at all like most fragrant coon baits on the market. Its rich, loud odor leaves a real "ZANG" at any set. The coon bait has risen to be the all-time top coon bait. Its attraction to passing coon is unsurpassed. Gives fantastic results on land or water. Trappers, it takes a lot of these creek bank fox and coyote, too. A number of southern trappers use it exclusively on gray fox. 1/4 Pint Jar

The bad thing is the one item of his I really liked he no longer makes. That was his liquid fox and coyote bait. When I first really started catching K-9's that was one of my favorites. Now I lean on Jameson's liquid bait its good for K-9's as well.

I don't have red foxes here, so can't say if it will work on reds. However, this is what I do for greys and coon: put a can of jack mack and two cans of lightly smoked sardines (both purchased from Dollar General) in a blender. Add some vegetable oil and glycerine to it. Put on the lid! Blend until it is creamy smooth and about the consistency of ketchup. Put in a squirt bottle. Squirt some of this down the dirt hole at your set. They will dig to get to it.

I know this is a bit offtopic but I honestly use VERY little bait for foxes, in any form. I find that lures can get the job done 90% of the time. By the time the baits are really working the fox are rubbed anyways most of the time. Just my 3 cents
